Launching a Specialist Life Sciences Recruitment Brand

Brand positioning | Recruitment marketing | Website launch

New brand and website delivered within a sub-£3k start-up budget | Clear positioning in a specialist life sciences niche | Platform designed to support early client conversations

The Situation

Kemio Consulting is a specialist recruitment business focused on the life sciences sector.

Founder Eugene McDaid had previously worked with Marketing4Talent through a fractional Head of Marketing engagement during his time at Paramount Recruitment.

When launching Kemio, he wanted to move quickly — turning a clear business vision into a credible brand and digital presence that would support early client conversations.

In specialist recruitment markets like life sciences, credibility matters from day one. Clients need confidence that they are working with someone who understands their sector and network.

The launch therefore needed to feel established, professional and focused — even as a new business.

The Challenge

Kemio was launching as a completely new business.

There was no existing brand identity, messaging or website in place.

The key challenges were clear:

  • launching a specialist recruitment brand from scratch

  • establishing credibility in a highly specialised life sciences market

  • working within a lean start-up budget

  • delivering everything quickly to support early business development

For many recruitment founders, this is a familiar situation.

Launching a new recruitment business requires a brand and website that feel credible from day one — but without the budgets or timescales typically associated with larger marketing projects.

Marketing in recruitment and talent markets also behaves differently to many other industries, where credibility, reputation and relationships often influence decisions more than traditional marketing tactics. As explored in Why marketing in talent markets works differently, trust and professional relationships tend to play a much larger role in how hiring and recruitment decisions happen.

The challenge therefore becomes straightforward:

How do you create a professional recruitment brand that supports client conversations without unnecessary complexity or cost?

This wasn’t just a website

When recruitment founders launch a new business, the instinct is often to simply “get a website live”.

But a website alone doesn’t create credibility.

What matters far more is how the brand is positioned, how clearly the value proposition is communicated, and whether the site supports real business conversations.

Many recruitment businesses generate plenty of marketing activity, but relatively few meaningful conversations or opportunities. As discussed in Why most recruitment marketing doesn’t lead to conversations, visibility alone rarely translates directly into commercial momentum if positioning, messaging and business development aren’t connected.

So rather than approaching this as a simple website build, the project focused on creating a clear brand and digital foundation for the business to grow from.

The Approach

We worked closely with the founder to develop both the brand identity and website as a single, joined-up project.

The goal was to create a professional recruitment brand that clearly communicates expertise within the life sciences sector.

The entire project focused on delivering maximum credibility and clarity within a lean start-up budget.

Brand positioning

Clarifying Kemio’s position within the life sciences recruitment market and defining messaging that would resonate with specialist clients.

Website design and build

Designing and building a WordPress website that clearly communicates:

• Kemio’s specialist life sciences focus
• the value of the recruitment service
• the expertise and credibility of the founder

Visual identity

Designing a professional and distinctive brand identity that feels credible within the sector while remaining practical for a start-up business.

Content structure

Structuring the website to support early-stage business development by balancing:

• sector expertise
• service clarity
• founder-led credibility

The Platform

The Kemio website was designed to provide a clear and credible foundation for a growing recruitment business.

Key priorities included:

• a clean, professional design aligned with the life sciences sector
• messaging that communicates specialist expertise clearly
• a structure that supports client conversations and business development
• a platform that is easy to manage and evolve as the business grows

Rather than simply acting as a digital brochure, the site functions as a practical tool for building trust with potential clients.

The Result

The project delivered exactly what the founder needed to launch the business confidently.

• Brand and website delivered on time and within a sub-£3k budget
• A credible professional recruitment brand from day one
• A website designed to support early client conversations and pipeline development
• A platform that continues to evolve as the business grows

Most importantly, Kemio has successfully established itself within a specialist life sciences recruitment niche.

What this case demonstrates

For early-stage recruitment businesses, first impressions matter.

The most effective launches combine:

• clear positioning
• professional branding
• a defined specialist niche
• a practical digital platform

Kemio demonstrates what that looks like in practice.

Not just a website — but a launch platform.

Not just branding — but credibility from day one.
